Stevia Seeds

The incredible “sweet herb” of South America has become a hot crop for commercial growers and gardeners. It's fun to grow and taste's great right off the plant! Dried, ground leaves are sweeter than sugar, yet stevia is non-glycemic and virtually calorie free.

In the 1990's, one of my college professors asked me to do a research study on stevia seed production (read the research paper at the Purdue University New Crops Web Site). Back then, it was hard to find stevia seeds with a germination rate over 50%. I continued growing stevia and perfected a method for producing good stevia seeds. Now I have stevia seeds for sale. -- Jeffrey Goettemoeller, publisher & author

Quality stevia seeds are black in color and will sprout in 6-14 days under conditions similar to what would be used for tomato seeds. Exposure to light improves germination a bit. We sell seeds I have grown or good stevia seeds from other growers when my own supply runs low. These stevia seeds are at least 70% germination, usually better. Our seeds are clean, with the "pappus bristles" removed. The photo above shows seeds with pappus bristles to left of the penny and cleaned seeds on the right.

Clean, high germination stevia seeds!  20 seeds for $3.20; 100 seeds for $11.20; 500 seeds for $39.20; 1000 seeds for $62.70; 5000 seeds for $188.00.
